Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad has assured that the new budget would include targeted relief and support for the people.

Speaking at the Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Forum, Professor Prasad says the upcoming 2025–2026 National Budget will prioritise efficiency, inclusivity and results.

He says they are focused on improving public service delivery and building a resilient economy through closer collaboration with the private sector.

The Deputy Prime Minister says there is a need for a shift from stimulus-driven spending to more responsible financial management, stating that government expenditure must now deliver clear value to the public.

He also encouraged greater private sector involvement, underlining the government’s commitment to working alongside businesses rather than making fancy announcements.

The 2025-2026 National Budget will be tabled in Parliament on June 27th.
