PAP Leader Sitiveni Rabuka and the late former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe

The attack on Japan’s former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was an act of brutality that happened while he was out on the campaign trail in the lead-up to his country’s general elections which is the very foundation of democracy.

This has been stresses by the People’s Alliance Leader, Sitiveni Rabuka who says he is deeply saddened by the shocking news of the sudden passing of Abe who succumbed to gunshot wounds in a terrible incident yesterday morning.

Rabuka says his demise is an irreparable loss not only for Japan but also for the world at large.

He says Abe was Japan’s youngest premier in the postwar era, a visionary statesman, a charismatic leader and a relentless champion of democratic values and ideals.

The former Prime Minister has paid his deepest condolences to the family of the late Prime Minister and to the Government and People of Japan.
