The Deans Trophy is all about the process and character building, not just the end result and that’s the way students and players are groomed at Suva Grammar, whether they are involved in rugby or any other sport.

This was shared by Suva Grammar School Principal, Iosefo Masivue, in an interview with fijivillage News this afternoon.

He says this core message is especially important as the school prepares to send three teams into the finals this week.

Masivue emphasized that there is no pressure heading into the finals, and the players are well aware of that.

He says that the welfare and emotional well-being of the players remain the school’s top priority.

Masivue also says that players from all three grades—from Under-14 to Under-16—will be using their rugby talents to glorify God and win or lose, the Grammarian community will celebrate their sporting achievements.

He added that he constantly reminds his players that life doesn’t end at the Deans level and they must continue to push themselves to reach their full potential and aim for the pinnacle in rugby.

QVS will play Grammar in the U14 grade at 8am, Grammar will face MGM in the under 15 grade at 9.10am and they will play Gospel High School in the U16 final at 11.50am.

Lelean will meet RKS in the U17 grade at 1.10pm, and Tailevu North College will play Nasinu Secondary in the U19 final at 2.50pm while in the U18 final Nasinu will meet Ratu Kadavulevu School at 5.30pm.
