That uniform represents a promise to every citizen that they can live, work and thrive without fear or hindrance - Tikoduadua

Recruits of Batch 66 were reminded by the Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration Pio Tikoduadua that the uniform they are wearing signifies more than authority as it represents a promise to every citizen that they can live, work and thrive without fear or hindrance.

While speaking at the pass out parade of 217 recruits at the Nasova Grounds, Tikoduadua says they are the guardians at the gates, the silent watchers who ensure the tranquility of our streets and the safety of our homes.

He reminded the graduates that policing is far from a routine job, as it is a vocation of calls for dedication beyond the conventional bound of working hours.

Tikoduadua also reminded the graduates that there will always be those that operate outside the boundaries of the law and their task is to stand firm against such elements ensuring that the rule of law prevails. Out of the 217 cadets that passed out today, 46 were females and 10 were from the Tuvalu Police.
