Telecom Fiji has donated $5,000 and entered a team for the Frank Hilton Organisation Charity Virtual Wheelbarrow race.

CEO Charles Goundar says this year’s race will be different from the previous years given the current global pandemic situation and will be run virtually by each participating team, as a safety measure and to increase participation.

He says this annual event aims to raise funds to provide education and services to children with disabilities in Fiji.

He says as a local company, they have a responsibility to give back to the community, especially during these trying times where many Fijians are struggling financially.

The Frank Hilton Organization is the controlling authority of the Hilton Special School, Hilton Early Intervention Centre, Hilton House Hostel, Hilton Audiology/Speech Therapy Department, Hilton Community Support unit and Hilton Physiotherapy Unit.

The organisation has been operating since the 1960s and looks after children with disabilities at its complex at Brown Street, as well as providing medical services.
