The 2022 Vodafone Tebara Carnival Committee aims to utilize the funds raised for the Nausori Beautification Initiative.

The theme for this year’s festival is "Clean, Beautiful and Resilient Community".

While opening the carnival, Commissioner Central Josefo Navuku says the festival is a way where we can contribute to our society and make positive contributions to the various projects and initiatives shared by the committee.

Navuku says as we celebrate Fiji's 52nd Independence Day, they acknowledge and commend our grandparents or parents for laying the platform over the last 52 years that enabled us to enjoy and celebrate peacefully.

He says we can also challenge ourselves as a nation on what we can do to ensure we make Fiji our transformative, inclusive, safe and united society.

Meanwhile, the Vodafone Tebara Carnival Committee has previously donated $10,000 to the Prime Minister’s Winston appeal fund, $3,000 assistance for the Cyclone Kina relief fund, $15,000 for the upgrade of the Syria Children's Park, 10 Willi bins to Nausori Market and $10,000 towards the upgrade of the new Raralevu Cemetery.

The Tebara Carnival continues today.

It is sarong night for the contestants and the entertainment tonight at Syria Park includes appearances by Viti FM and Navtarang personalities, the Mata Dance Group and performances by Savuto and Tua.
