Teachers that have not received their salary for the last 8 weeks, their pay has been processed and will get paid next week or the following pay.

Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro highlighted this to fijivillage News when asked about teachers that still have not been paid after 8 weeks, saying it is because of their new system.

Radrodro says this is due to internal processes that every new teacher needs to understand.

He says it is not a system entirely based on the laxity of the Ministry of Education.

The Minister says they are now making improvements in terms of their systems in-house to get them through the induction process.

He says the new teachers all understand what they need to provide, the signing of the employment letter of appointment, and all those things, so they are making improvements.
