A heartwarming act of kindness has emerged from Nakavu Village School, where the Minister for Housing and Local Government, Maciu Nalumisa has assisted a school teacher whose quarters was destroyed in a fire on Monday.

Nalumisa extended both financial assistance and emotional support to Jotame Tabulawaki, a dedicated teacher at Nakavu Village School, after his family lost everything in the blaze at around 3.45am on Monday.

The estimated cost of damage is $25,000 for the property and $12,000 for furniture, electrical appliances and clothing.

Nalumisa says Tabulawaki has devoted his life to educating children in the community, and it is now time for others to rally behind him.

He also called on members of the public to lend any form of assistance to help the teacher rebuild his life.

Tabulawaki can be contacted on 9514702 for support.

Ministry of Local Government says this story serves as a reminder that even in times of hardship, compassion and community spirit continue to shine through.
