Landowners in Tavua are expected to benefit from the Government grant scheme for land development after it was launched by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

Bainimarama highlighted that given the strength of sub-dividing and leasing out of the land, the government decided to help communities and ambitious individuals to unlock their capital and get the right rental pay for it.

Bainimarama says the government is there to provide the assistance. He adds Fiji is one step closer to ending the notion of the iTaukei people being asset rich and cash poor.

The Prime Minister says other projects are also underway in Wairabetia, Saweni, Viseisei and Lautoka.
