Taveuni man charged with raping a 12-year-old boy

A 48-year-old man of Taveuni who allegedly raped a 12-year-old boy last week, has been charged.

The man has been charged with two counts of rape and the matter has been sent to the Savusavu Magistrates Court this afternoon due to the COVID restrictions in place.

It is alleged the boy was returning from swimming when he was approached by the accused who then invited him to his home where the alleged incident occurred.
