Richard Tanumi.

After impressing judges at The Voice Australia auditions earlier this week, Richard Tanumi is urging Fijians to follow his journey as he tries to reach the finals.

Tanumi who was born in Australia and has maternal links to Soso, Naceva in Kadavu performed a song from The Weeknd.

He also ripped off his shirt and proceeded to twirl flaming torches.

Speaking to fijivillage, Tanumi says blind auditions were super cool and crazy.

The singer and dancer says he really wanted Jessica Mauboy to spin and she did but Rita Ora had a really good pitch too and he got conflicted on the stage.

Tanumi says he went with his gut and chose Mauboy.

He adds Fijian artists should not be afraid to step out of their comfort zone and aim for something great and big.

Tanumi says he is excited to share the rest of his journey on the show with Fijians.
