Permanent Secretary for Health, Doctor James Fong says people just have to take a lot of fluids and Panadol before or after taking the COVID-19 vaccine, Astra-Zeneca as there is expected side effects like mild fever.

Doctor Fong, Health Minister, Doctor Ifereimi Waqainabete and Chief Medical Advisor, Doctor Jemesa Tudravu got their first doses of the vaccine today.

Doctor Fong says there is no cause for alarm and hesitancy, as some mild side effects are expected just like other vaccines.

The Permanent Secretary for Health says even some of the European authorities are disagreeing with the suspension of the administering of Astra-Zeneca in some countries. He also says the World Health Organisation and the Australian authorities do not feel compelled to suspend Astra-Zeneca.
