Midfielder Jotivini Tabua will captain the Fiji Kulas as they prepare for the 2025 OFC Women’s Nations Cup, which starts on Saturday.
A firefighter by profession, Tabua says they have a big battle ahead of them, but they have to start strong. She promises that they will come out fighting and face each game like it is the final.
Tabua says the Kulas won silver in the last WNC, but they will go a step further this year and get gold.
Maria Veronica, who is based in Papua New Guinea and plays for Hekari United, has been named vice-captain.
Men's national team captain, Roy Krishna says he is proud of the women's team.
With only a few days remaining before their first game, Krishna says little things such as when to sleep, food, and water intake matter.
He is encouraging the players to enjoy the experience and make their family and Vanua proud.
Meanwhile, US based sportswear brand Custom Athletic has officially been announced as new partners of Fiji Football Association for the national team gear and apparel for the next 5 years.
The women's team will be the first to wear the new jersey at the OFC Women’s Nations Cup.
The Kulas take on Solomon Islands at 7pm Saturday at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
