Students hoping to secure a scholarship through the Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Service are reminded that today is their last chance to register for the first intake of the academic year and those who have already registered can still complete and submit their applications.

TSLS CEO, Hasmukh Lal says the registration simply means creating an account on the TSLS Online Application and Processing System.

He says to be considered, students must log in, fill out all required details and submit their applications where only fully completed applications will be assessed.

Lal says as of last Tuesday, 13,827 students had registered, but only 7,198 had completed their applications.

He adds that another 3,976 applications remain incomplete and 2,653 students have only registered without making further progress.

The CEO says for students hoping to secure a Commercial Pilot Training scholarship, TSLS is awaiting results from the Fiji Airways aptitude test, with offers expected next week.

He says the final round of testing will take place early next week and Fiji Airways will inform students directly.

The CEO says Scholarships are awarded based on ranking, from highest to lowest, until the quota is filled, except where selection is based on interviews or aptitude tests.

He says those who do not meet the quota may be offered alternative scholarship options.

He further says TSLS has also confirms that registration will reopen for Semester 2 for Degree scholarships and Quarter 2 for TVET scholarships in cases where quotas remain unfilled.

He says around 9,940 existing sponsored students will continue their studies in 2025 without needing to reapply.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education will resume face-to-face interviews for Teacher Training Programmes next week.

TSLS has started the first round of interviews yesterday and will begin issuing scholarship offers today.
