Chief Executive Officer of iTaukei Land Trust Board Tevita Kuruvakadua

The Chief Executive Officer of iTaukei Land Trust Board, Tevita Kuruvakadua has been put on suspension effective immediately pending an investigation into certain allegations received by the TLTB Board.

The TLTB Board emphasises that the suspension is by no means suggestive of guilt or confirmation of guilt on the part of the CEO.

The TLTB Board says it believes that it is in the best interest of the organisation to proceed with the suspension to allow for an objective, independent and impartial investigation into the allegations.

The CEO has been informed of the allegations and will be accorded all procedural requirements in the facilitation of the investigation and its outcome.

The TLTB Board says it remains fully committed to completing this process as soon as possible.

Senior Manager, Peni Qalo who currently holds the position of Manager Research and Policy, has been appointed as the Acting Chief Executive Officer to ensure that the day to day running of the organisation proceeds as normal.

The board says Qalo brings with him a wealth of operational experience in the administration of iTaukei land having served in the board in various positions culminating in his current appointment as Manager Research and Policy.

The TLTB Board confirms to stakeholders that TLTB will continue to function effectively during the period of the CEO’s suspension and remains committed to administering iTaukei land for the benefit of the iTaukei landowners.
