Charters' free man after High Court rules permanent stay on proceedings
British and Fijian National Charlie Charters is now a free man after the Suva High Court ruled a Permanent Stay on proceedings.

Charters' lawyer Seforan Fatiaki says this brings an end to the criminal proceedings in the Suva Magistrates Court.

Fatiaki says because it is the judgement of the High Court, FICAC has the right to appeal.

The case was called before Justice Pita Bulamainaivalu this morning.

Charters was charged with two counts of aiding and betting after allegedly helping a FICAC officer unlawfully publish confidential FICAC information.
