Suva Retailers Association President Vinay Kumar and SCC Chairman Isikeli Tikoduadua

The Suva City Council has announced that they will be having the Suva on Sale from the 5th to the 10th of next month.

SCC Chairman Isikeli Tikoduadua says they are aiming to have an increase in economic activity through this, considering that a number of retail workers have been let go or are on reduced hours.

Suva Retailers Association President Vinay Kumar says there will be no closure of streets or setting up of tents this time and COVID-19 restrictions will be taken into account.

Kumar says retailers will be allowed to have a table outside their shops and also have a sale inside.

He is encouraging retailers to take part in this as the economy is in need of a boost and this coincides with Fiji's 50th year of Independence.

Kumar adds they are also working with Police and relevant stakeholders to ensure that the City is safe during the event.

More details will be revealed in the coming days.
