Suva Medics win National Medical IDC 2025 title in thrilling penalty shootout

Suva Medics have emerged victorious in a dramatic final against Nadroga Medics, winning 7-6 in a penalty shoot out to claim the National Medical Inter-District Championship 2025 title.

Suva showcased early dominance in the first half by taking a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Nadroga Medics came out with renewed energy after the break and managed to level the score.

Both teams pushed forward aggressively, each netting another goal to bring the scoreline to 2-all by the final whistle of regular time.

With neither side able to find the winner during normal time, the match was decided via a penalty shootout, where Suva held their nerve and edged past Nadroga 7-6, sealing their triumph.

Suva player Dr. Nisheel Burman expressed his delight after the team's victory, emphasizing the excitement and confidence within the squad.

He says the team had entered the game with a strong belief in their preparation and ability.

He also acknowledged the hard work of the coaching staff and the unwavering support of the fans, saying the collective effort was instrumental in achieving the result.
