Suva Grammar School began its 65th Sapphire Anniversary celebration with a church service yesterday.
Fijians from all walks of life, including alumni from around the world, gathered at Grammar Court to mark the beginning of a week-long celebration of the school’s legacy and journey.
During the church service, Old Scholars President Stanley Simpson shared that where there is unity, God’s spirit commands.
Simpson reflected on Grammar’s transformation since its founding in 1960, highlighting the many changes the institution has undergone, all made possible by the grace of God.

He says that since the Old Scholars’ reunion in 2017, there has been a united decision to re-dedicate the school to God, and according to him, this act of faith has led to significant improvements, particularly in academic performance and overall achievements, all rooted in the principle of putting God first.
Looking to the future, Simpson emphasized the association’s vision to make Grammar great again, a mission focused on student success.
He called on all stakeholders, including parents, alumni, and the wider community, to work together towards this shared goal for the benefit of the students.
