Suspended Chief Justice Kamal Kumar has passed away.
fijivillage News has received confirmation from senior legal sources that Chief Justice Kumar passed away yesterday due to a medical condition.
His tribunal hearing was to begin yesterday however the matter was adjourned to a later date as three key witnesses could not be present in court due to medical conditions.
Kumar was suspended in January this year after complaints of misbehaviour.
The President on the 29th of January informed Kumar that having regard to the nature of some of the matters complained of and the responses, he was suspended from office pending investigation and referral to the tribunal.
