A suspect is currently in Police custody in relation to the murder of a 58-year-old man in Tavuki, Taveuni earlier this month.

Police say the victim’s body was found outside his home and blood was found inside the house.

Assistant Commissioner of Police – Crime Mesake Waqa says three others were questioned and released as investigations continue.

ACP Waqa is also appealing to members of the community to disregard unverified information shared on social media regarding the incident, encouraging those who have any genuine information to come forward or report through Crime Stoppers on 919.

He is also pleading with members of the public to stop sharing the victim’s photo out of respect for his family.

This comes as concerns were raised as photos of the victim are being circulated online.
