Yuvika Sharma was overjoyed after her hard work paid off when she received the Dux Award at the Navosa Central College prize-giving ceremony today.

Sharma achieved an impressive 367 out of 400 in the Year 13 Annual Examination.

She also scored the highest marks in Technical Drawing and Physics, earning 97 out of 100 in both subjects and topped all five of her subjects.

The 18-year-old says studying in remote areas was challenging due to internet connectivity issues but she remained focused on achieving her goals.

Sharma says her biggest inspiration came from her parents who continuously motivated her to overcome challenges and strive for excellence.

She also acknowledged the unwavering support of her parents and teachers for their guidance over the years.

Sharma says both her parents have been her teachers for the past five years.

Sharma says she has yet to apply to any local universities but has applied to three universities in Australia through the Global Korea Scholarship program.

She adds her plans is to pursue a degree in Information System Engineering, specializing in Cyber and Data Security.
