Students of Society for the Blind participate in hand washing and fire drill officiated by Dr. Muhammad-Bande

30 students from the Fiji Society for the Blind in Vatuwaqa today participated in the hand-washing and fire drill which was officiated by the President of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Dr. Tijjani Muhammad-Bande.

Dr. Muhammad-Bande today witnessed the difficulties visually impaired students go through after being blindfolded while taking part in the fire and hand-washing drill.

When questioned of what his experience was after the two activities, Dr. Muhammed-Bande says it was not easy.

Meanwhile, Head of School Sharmila Chandra says they had practiced for the drills throughout the week.

She says Dr.Muhammad-Bande was very interested to see how the special schools carry out these drills.
