The NRL Premiership playoffs have come down to the last day of the final round with the top seven positions locked in, with only the fate of the Titans or the Sharks yet to be revealed.

The Melbourne Storm edged out Penrith to win the minor premiership on Friday night with their 40-6 win over the Sharks, while the Sea Eagles clinched fourth spot ahead of the Roosters by beating the Cowboys 46-18 last night.

The Gold Coast Titans can be the eighth team if they beat the Warriors by 11 points or more to finish with a better for-and-against record than the Cronulla Sharks.

In the qualifying finals, the Storm will face the Sea Eagles while the Panthers will play the Rabbitohs.

The winners of these games will go straight to the preliminary finals in week three while the losers will take on the winners of the week-one elimination finals.

In week one of the elimination finals, the Eels will meet the Knights while the Roosters face the Titans or the Sharks.
