High Court Judge, Justice Daniel Goundar has asked the defence lawyer in the case of a man who allegedly raped his stepdaughter to file a formal bail application.

The man faces two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault and the alleged incidents happened between 2016 to 2021 in Ovalau.

State lawyer, Setefano Komaibaba objected to bail by saying that defence is not providing who the sureties are and where and with whom the man will live with if granted bail.

Komaibaba also highlighted in court that the man is 36 years of age while the complainant is 26 years old.

The man was not present in court as he is in remand.

The case will be called again next Wednesday.
