Star-studded Police Blue side ready to defend their Marist 7s title

Police Blue player, Keponi Paul says despite having camp for only one week, they are ready to defend their 44th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s title this weekend.

Paul says when it comes to the Police team, they always aim for the first place.

Paul who also played for the Fiji 7s team says they have a lot of depth in their squad as they have players such as Olympians, Samisoni Viriviri, Kitione Taliga, current Fiji 7s reps, Livai Ikanikoda, Waisea Nacuqu, Terio Tamani, Rusiate Matai and Manueli Laqai.

He adds that they have players who also play in the Skipper Cup Competition.

The tournament kicks-off tomorrow with the Under 21 competition where Marist will face Ratu Filise at 8am at the ANZ Stadium.

The women's competition also starts tomorrow with CKs Ezybuy Marist facing Army at 9.50am.

The pool games for the men's competition starts on Friday and it will end with round one of elimination.

The main cup elimination and finals are on Saturday.
