Three children were discharged after successfully undergoing lifesaving surgeries under the Gift of Life program at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children's Hospital.

While speaking to fijivillage News, mother of 9-year-old Rehana Hassan says it was really disheartening to find her son being diagnosed with rheumatic heart disease.

She adds that her son, Zeyaan Hassan, was also active and participated in sports, which did not make her feel like her son was suffering from such a condition.

She emphasizes how grateful she is to Sai Sanjeevani Children's Hospital to be blessing her child with a new life.

Two other children with Hassan were blessed under Gift of Life Program.

During the Gift to life Ceremony, Director of Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Fiji, Dr. Krupali Tappoo highlighted that the organization is working on having more infrastructure so they can help more children.

She adds that one of their founding projects is catheters, which will allow procedures where doctors will not need to open up the chest, adding that holes and lesions can be closed through with small devices that go from the wrists.

Dr Tappoo also emphasized that the organizations do blood drives, distributions, teacher training workshops, and rural outreach camps.
