The 45-year-old sports coach for a club in Suva who allegedly sexually assaulted 3 girls aged 13, 14 and 16 years in Suva on ten different occasions will appear in the Suva Magistrates Court today.

The man is charged with 8 counts of sexual assault and 1 count of indecent assault.

Police say the man allegedly sexually assaulted 3 girls from February last year to March this year.

They say the man was the victims' sports coach and it is alleged that the incident happened during the training sessions.

They add that they will be aggressive in cases targeting the vulnerable.

Police are calling on all parents to be vigilant when sending their children to training or any other activities and are urging young people to have confidence in themselves and report any matter uncomfortable to them immediately.

We have sent questions to the Ministry of Education.

They are yet to respond.
