Speaker of Parliament Dr Jiko Luveni and SODELPA MP Niko Nawaikula

The Speaker of Parliament has told SODELPA MP Niko Nawaikula she is baffled by him.

This was after SODELPA MP Niko Nawaikula had proposed the amendment that the allocation of $70,000 for Cultural Awareness of iTaukei Festival be placed under Intellectual Property and the Cultural Awareness of iTaukei Festival be removed altogether.

Speaker Dr Jiko Luveni had asked why he wanted that amendment and Nawaikula had replied that the Cultural Awareness of iTaukei Festival was of no use compared to Intellectual Property.

The Speaker called for votes and Nawaikula’s motion was defeated.
