Sowakula looking to wreak more havoc against France on Sunday

Sowakula looking to wreak more havoc against France on Sunday

Pita Gus Sowakula will make his second start for the FIJI Water Flying Fijians in Sunday's game against France, and Head Coach Mick Byrne says it seems like Sowakula has been in the side for a while.

Sowakula was a menace during his debut last week against England as he was everywhere on defence and attack, and has retained the blindside jersey looking to wreak more havoc against the French this weekend.

When asked by fijivillage Sports, Byrne agreed with the way Sowakula was able to easily link up with the forwards and the backline.

Byrne says being Fijian, a lot of their players come in and slot right into their old village friendships and relationships, which means when they come in it is like they have been in the team all their life.

He says this is in their DNA, and they want to keep the way they play so when the opportunity is there to keep the ball alive, the team has the same mindset around that.

The Flying Fijians play France at 8.10am Sunday in Bordeaux.
