The South Taveuni Secondary School Under-19 boys football team is set to make history with their first-ever appearance at the 2025 Extra Fiji Secondary Schools Football Championship that will be held at the newly redeveloped 4R Stadium in Ba from next Wednesday to Saturday.

This is the first time a team from Taveuni will compete at the national level, having earned direct qualification in their debut appearance at the Northern Secondary Schools Football Championship.

Coach Ritik Nehal Sami expressed pride in making history as the first school from Taveuni to compete in the championship, saying the team is ready to face the tough competition ahead.

He thanked the school management, staff, players, and parents for their support in making this possible.

Sami says they are aware of how competitive the championship will be, but the team will take each match as it comes and give their best.

South Taveuni Secondary School is in Group E, alongside All Saints Secondary School, Sigatoka Andhra College, and Natabua College.
