Small and Medium Enterprises and MSMEs in any country are very important contributors to economic growth.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Prof. Biman Prasad stated this at the opening of the Yummy Tummy Restaurant in Sigatoka today saying it creates employment and support for income growth and improvement in the quality of life of people.

Prof. Prasad says government is determined to support the small and medium enterprises, in the last nine months and there's a lot of work being done to remove the various obstacles that are there for small and medium enterprises.

He adds that during the 2023-24 National Budget, government set up the fiscal committee and various other committees to help remove barriers faced by MSME’s.
