The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side will meet New Zealand in the HSBC Singapore 7s semi finals after defeating Japan 12-10 in the quarter finals.

Ana Maria Naimasi and Adi Vani Buleki scored a try each for Fiji.

The Japanese side fought back in the second half scoring two tries from Yume Hirano and Arisa Nishi, but it was not enough as both tries were not converted.

The Japanese side took the game into the dying minutes as they drew closer to the try line to deny Fiji their semi final place, however, the Fijiana girls' defence stood tall at the end.

Fijiana will take on New Zealand at 5.02pm today in the first semi final and Australia will face France at 5.24pm today in the second semi final.

The final is at 9.41 tonight.
