Singapore 7s: Fijiana 7s to face Japan in cup quarter-finals despite 60-0 loss to Australia

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side is through to the HSBC Singapore 7s Women's quarter finals despite losing 60-0 to Australia in their final pool match this afternoon.

Australia put on the pressure from the start, depriving the Fijians of possession and playing out their game plan.

Australia was also awarded two penalty tries.

Australia’s Maddison Levi scored a hat-trick, Faith Nathan scored a double, while Teagan Levi, Kaitlin Shave and Tia Hinds scored a try each.

Fijiana will meet Japan in the quarter-finals.

The Women’s quarter-finals start at 8.27pm today, the semi-finals will begin at 5.02pm tomorrow, and the final is at 9.41pm today.

Meanwhile, the Fiji men’s 7s side will face Ireland at 5.37pm today in their final pool match.

The cup quarter-finals will start at 11 tonight, the semi-finals will start at 5.48pm tomorrow, and the final will kick off at 10.21pm tomorrow.
