The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side have started their HSBC Singapore 7s campaign with a bang after thumping the USA 38-0 in their first pool game.

Joseva Talacolo, George Bose, Iowane Teba and Tira Wilagi all got their names on the score sheet in the first half as Fiji put on a dominant performance.

Fiji led 24-0 at half time.

Joji Nasova and Vuiviwa Naduvalo scored in the second half with conversions from Teba, Filipe Sauturaga, Nasova and Sakiusa Siqila adding the extras.

The Fiji team looked like a well oiled machine with their crisp passes and defensive pattern shutting down the USA.

Fiji next plays New Zealand in their second pool match just after midnight at 12.22am.

There are no quarter finals in the Singapore 7s as whoever tops the pool goes straight to the semi finals tomorrow making it a must to win all games.

The cup semi finals kick off at 6.34pm tomorrow with the cup final at 11.41pm tomorrow.

In other matches, Kenya beat Ireland 17-7, Spain defeated Uruguay 21-12, Great Britain thrashed South Africa 38-10, New Zealand beat the USA 29-14, Kenya edged France 10-7, Uruguay thumped Australia 28-5, South Africa edged Argentina 26-24,
