Silver Ferns name Ekenasio as team's new captain

The Silver Ferns have named Ameliaranne Ekenasio as the team's new captain and she'll lead New Zealand at the upcoming Nations Cup in England.

Jane Watson and Gina Crampton have been named vice-captains.

Ekenasio who debuted in 2014, was the MYOB Silver Ferns Player of the Year at the 2019 New Zealand Netball Awards.

Coach Dame Noeline Taurua said Ekenasio’s on-court performances, growing confidence as a world-class athlete, leadership qualities and genuine care for others made her a contender for the captaincy.
