Silktails no longer part of FNRL

Silktails no longer part of FNRL

By Navitalai Naivalurua
09/06/2022
FNRL Chairman Viliame Naupoto and Fiji National Sports Commission Chairman Peter Mazey.

The Silktails are no longer part of the Fiji National Rugby League.

FNRL Chairman Viliame Naupoto says the Silktails have unilaterally pulled out of the Memorandum of Understanding they had signed to allow them to operate as an affiliate club for FNRL.

He says they have been operating in that way for the past 5-months but there are still talks in setting everything straight.

Naupoto says if the Silktails want to operate in Fiji, they will have to pay and get approvals, just like any overseas club.

Fiji National Sports Commission Chairman Peter Mazey confirmed the Silktails cancelled the MOU with FNRL.
