A severe thunderstorm warning for heavy rainfall is now in force for Eastern parts of Viti Levu from Nuku to Deuba, Suva, Buretu, Korovou, Dawasamu, Nakarotubu, Nalawa, Navatusila, Naikoro and the rest of the interior parts of Viti Levu.
The Nadi Weather Office this means that these areas are expected get heavy rain, thunder and lightning.
The Weather Office says people are advised to keep clear of flooded creeks and drains and should not walk, ride bike or drive through flood waters.
They are advising people to unplug computers and appliances and to stay indoors away from windows and keep children and pets indoors as well.
The Weather Office says people should stay vigilant and monitor conditions.
A trough of low pressure lies slow moving over the Eastern parts of the group and is expected to affect parts of the country until tomorrow while gradually drifting eastwards away from the group.
