Several roads in the Western Division are currently closed due to flooding following heavy rain today.

The Fiji Roads Authority says key closures include Vaivai Rd 1st Crossing and Saru Back Rd Crossing in Lautoka, both of which are closed to all traffic.

They say Babriban Crossing and Vatawai Crossing, both closed to traffic while Varadoli Back Rd in Ba and Marinitawa Rd at its 1st Crossing is also closed due to flooding.

FRA says despite the closures, Balevuto Crossing in Ba has reopened to all traffic and roads such as Lakalaka Rd and Mataniwai Rd in Tavua are open, but only to 4x4 vehicles, as they are underwater in certain areas.

They say in Rakiraki, the Katudrau Crossing remains underwater, blocking access and Yaladro Rd in Tavua is completely closed.

The Fiji Roads Authority is urging travelers to exercise extreme caution when traveling through these areas.

They are also requesting the public to report any road infrastructure damage to them through their Toll-Free number 5720 or by emailing info@fijiroads.org.
