Participants attending the Fijian Indigenous Business Council (FIBC) Symposium were reminded that everyone shares responsibility for keeping their business secure and setting up CCTV can monitor movements around their business and also assist the Police if anything should happen.
While speaking at the symposium, Assistant Commissioner of Police Administration (ACPA) Meli Sateki says the use of CCTV is also a deterrent to those who are planning to commit crime.
He says the Fiji Police Force is aware that the Council is searching for ways to increase the number of indigenous businesses and this will be good for school leavers as they provide employment.
He stressed to participants that Indigenous youth nowadays struggle with attitude, and as these kids work to improve their knowledge, parents and senior citizens neglect to teach them the fundamentals of good manners.
ACP Sateki says their attitude is their only flaw, regardless of their credentials. He says that these young individuals will utilize their knowledge to commit crimes while they are unemployed.
ACP Sateki says the Fiji Police Force is evolving in order to create a safe environment for everyone, including the business houses.
The head of administration has called on the Council to work together with the Police in providing a safe and conducive environment for everyone.
