Serious concerns raised about group promising to make cancers and diseases disappear

People have raised serious concerns regarding the Generation Fire Healing and Miracles Crusade which is promising to make cancers and diseases disappear, the lame walk, deaf hear, and to remove pains.

International Women’s Association (Fiji) President, Judy Compain has also posted up on X that medical conditions require proven treatments and not promises of miraculous cures.

Compain is asking who are these people, and are they another group exploiting our people.

The IWA President say let's trust our health care providers and not false prophets as these people are placing lives at risk by making false promises, and we should not allow this to happen.

She says while it's free on the flyer, but it's $30 on their website.

Compain adds the group says they are reaching out to "churches and Christian business people that have a missionary heart."

During fijivillage Straight talk with Vijay Narayan last week Fiji Cancer Society nurse and Project Facilitator Alumita Bera says one of the things they found out is that when women are diagnosed with cancer, the first solution they look to is herbal medicine.

Bera says one of the drawbacks of herbal medicine is that when patients opt to visit the hospital, the damage is excessive.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Medical Services say they will not interfere with the wishes of members of the public, who may have been diagnosed with medical conditions, to attend the three-day Healing and Miracles Crusade to be held at the Suva Foreshore beginning tomorrow.

The Ministry acknowledges that it is a faith-based event and recognizes that everyone in Fiji is free to practice their faith.

However, the Ministry recommends that those who have been diagnosed with medical conditions and are on treatment, should maintain their prescribed treatment to get the full benefit of the treatment.

The Ministry says they strongly advise everyone currently on prescribed treatment against stopping their current treatment without first obtaining medical advice.

They say those who are not sure of whether they should continue or cease their prescribed treatment, should contact their treating medical team, family doctor, or their nearest health facility for advice and assistance.
