Semi Valemei scores his first NRL try as the Raiders beat the Rabbitohs

Fiji-born Semi Valemei scored his first try in the NRL for the Canberra Raiders

Fiji-born Semi Valemei scored his first try in the NRL for the Canberra Raiders as they defeated the South Sydney Rabbitohs 18-12 last night.

Valemei's try came from a sneaky kick from second-rower Elliott Whitehead in the 56th minute of the second half to extend their lead to 18-12.

Other tries for the Raiders came from Nick Cotric and Jarrod Croker.

Meanwhile, Dane Gagai and Adam Reynolds scored a try each for the Rabbitohs.

The Rabbitohs led the Raiders 12-10 at the break.

In other NRL results last night, the Roosters defeated the Warriors 18-10 and the Sharks beat the Dragons 28-24.

In NRL matches today, the Knights will take on the Bulldogs at 4pm while the Titans will face the Panthers at 6.05pm.
