“Our job is to do the work for the people, and security and stability for the people of Fiji will result in prosperity when we provide the conducive environment.”

This was the message from Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho as he held a talanoa session with officers from the Central, Southern and Eastern Division at the Fiji Police Academy to discuss issues from the middle to senior management levels.

The Commissioner says with more than 30 Police Stations and 70 community posts around Fiji, he relies on middle managers to effectively lead those under their command as they are the first point of contact for members of the public. He says with ranks come more responsibilities and called on the middle managers to be firm and make tough decisions when needed.

The talanoa session also gave the opportunity for officers to ask questions regarding the senior executive decisions impacting operations, administration and human resources.
