Vodafone Fiji Soccer star Scott Wara has been released by Stoke City who are currently in the second tier of English Football.

In a list submitted to the English Football League, Wara was one the 11 players that have been released by the club.

The 20-year-old showed his appreciation for the club on his Twitter page, saying that he dreamt of becoming a professional footballer since he was a child and he is thankful to Stoke for providing him with the opportunity.

He says he has learnt a lot from his time at the academy and has thanked all the staff, players and the fans who have helped him grow not only as a player but as a person.

Wara says it is unfortunate the way things have worked out but he is looking forward to see what the future holds.

The Lautoka born central defender made his debut for Fiji in 2018 and represented the National U23 side in the Olympic Qualifiers last year.
