Crusaders captain Scott Barrett may not feature in the Super Rugby Aotearoa competition.

Crusaders coach Scott Robertson revealed the disheartening news after his team’s 39-25 victory over the Hurricanes yesterday.

Barrett missed his team’s opening match because of a foot injury.

Robertson says he is currently with a specialist and they will make a call once they have re-scanned his foot this week and they should have a decision on Friday if the 26-year-old will play in the new competition.

The Crusaders are currently in 2nd place with 5 points in the Super Rugby Aotearoa points table.

The Crusaders will host the Chiefs at 3.35pm Sunday while the Blues will take on the Highlanders at 7.05pm Saturday.
