Assistant Health Minister Alexander O'Connor says they are currently dealing with a case where someone was injured in school and the school tried to sweep the issue under the carpet.

O'Connor revealed this as he chaired a virtual meeting by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence today with the Head of National Education Service Delivery Timoci Bure.

Bure made a submission on the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the Sale of Children, Child Prostitution and Child Pornography.

During his submission, Bure talked about the work of the National Coordinating Committee on Children and that it received data and information on cases of abuse.

It was at this time when O'Connor asked a question and made the revelation.
