A retired school teacher who is currently the manager of Naduri District School in Labasa believes nothing is impossible if you have passion for your work.
While delivering her speech at the Access to Quality Education Program on Leadership Training for Women, Pasemaca Kauvere said the most important quality a woman should have if they wish to hold a management position is to believe in themselves.
Kauvere, who is currently the only woman in Fiji managing a primary school, said nothing is impossible if you perform your duties and roles with your whole heart.
While sharing her experience as a manager in the two-day workshop this morning, Kauvere said some challenges she faces are balancing her role as a housewife, getting young parents involved and committee contribution.
Attending the workshop with more than 50 teachers from around the country, Kauvere said she looks forward to listening and getting ideas from other school teachers which she can use to further develop her school.
Meanwhile, a representative from the Australian High Commission Counsellor Joanne Choe said at the end of the workshop they aim to start spreading the word across school communities about leadership roles that women can play.
