The reintroduction of fundraising in schools has worked well for Dravo District School in Tailevu as they have been able to raise about $40,000 since 2023.

Speaking to fijivillage News, head teacher Shalesh Mudaliar says with the money they were able to get, they managed to build a school hall, install CCTV cameras, provide solar lights and other development are taking place in school.

Mudaliar also acknowledged the strong support from parents, noting that their commitment and teamwork made the fundraising efforts a success.

He adds the money raised serves as an additional boost to the Free Education Grant provided by the Ministry of Education, helping improve learning facilities and the overall learning environment for students.

He says the school remains grateful to the community for their dedication and looks forward to continuing this partnership for the benefit of all students.
