A Sawani family is currently homeless after continuous heavy rain caused a major landslide yesterday morning that has severely affected their home.

Homeowner Ranjeev Prasad says his family is sheltering at their neighbours house as the soil from the landslide continues to enter their house.

Prasad informed fijivillage News that their Advisory Councilor had reached out to the National Fire Authority however they have not received any assistance as yet.

He says the landslide has also damaged their ceiling and kitchen.

Prasad further says the landslide occurred around 5.30 yesterday morning when he, his wife and his father were in the house.

He adds they are waiting for assistance to clear their house.
