Minister for Youth and Sports Jese Saukuru has congratulated the Fiji Water Flying Fijians for their outstanding achievement as back-to-back champions of the Pacific Nations Cup, securing the title for the seventh time with a hard-fought 33–27 victory over Japan in Utah.

Saukuru congratulated each team member, along with the coaching and support staff, for this magnificent victory and extended his appreciation to the players’ families and fans for their unwavering support and belief in the team.

He says all the players hard work has paid off.

Saukuru reaffirmed the Coalition Government’s commitment to sports development, highlighting that sports continue to be a priority, with 72 percent of the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ 2025–2026 budget allocated to sports programs, including financial support for overseas tours by national teams.

He has thanked the players and the team management for bringing pride and joy to the nation.
